Thinking Styles

Develop

Identifies preferred thinking styles to improve communication and decision-making within teams.

Application

Thinking Styles is used in team building, coaching and organizational development. The questionnaire helps team members understand each other's way of thinking and work together more effectively. In coaching, Thinking Styles helps to become aware of your own thinking style and its effect on communication and decision-making. Within organizations, the model supports processes aimed at better cooperation and more thoughtful decision-making.

How does it work

Thinking Styles is a short, ipsative questionnaire that provides insight into the preferred thinking styles of team members. The questionnaire is based on Eduard de Bono's model, which distinguishes six thinking styles:

  • White: Facts, figures and objective information.
  • Yellow: Positivity, constructive contributions and seeing opportunities.
  • Red: Feeling, intuition and emotions.
  • Green: Creativity, Innovation and New Ideas
  • Black: Critical thinking, identifying risks and pitfalls.
  • Blue: Overview, Structure, and Control

De Bono's model, known as Six Thinking Hats, forms the basis of this questionnaire, but is applied in an accessible, practical form.

Why Thinking Styles?

Thinking Styles shows how people think and make decisions, and how these styles complement each other within a team. The questionnaire promotes mutual understanding, communication and team dynamics. With practical exercises and clear profiles, Thinking Styles offers a directly applicable tool for coaches, trainers and organizations that want to strengthen cooperation.
